Now that I've had a play around with the blog and done a few reviews, I thought I'd tell you lovely lot a bit about myself and my history.
I was born into a family in the North East of England with a headache. Yes, you read that correctly, I had a headache. It's thought that the placenta broke during birth, which starved me of oxygen for a time, causing brain damage. I was diagnosed with Left Hemiplegia, Cerebral Palsy, which in simple terms means that my left foot is paralysed, and my left hand is pretty useless too.
I had a pretty normal childhood, apart from plenty of hospital appointments, I can't remember feeling any different to my friends.
When I was 14, I started getting pain in my hip. After plenty of "growing pains" and "bursitis" explanations, I was referred to a hip specialist 6 years later and was diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia, you know, that dogs get. 3 operations down the line, I'm still not sorted with that, so reading and crafts are absolutely my life (when I'm not working, doing degrees and selling my house).
I'm married to a wonderful man who does more for me than he should need to. Just thought he'd deserve a mention,
Crafts are all on my instagram page (https://www.instagram.com/gianttortoise7/), along with gorgeous photos of my hamster. I love hamsters and love giving them human names. Current hamster is Sarah, though I can't take the credit for the name - she had it when we adopted her.
That's me! I hope you all enjoy reading my blog.
Hope you are all ok!
Steph 💚
